Tsubaki was looking through the shelves of the books, gently tracing her finger over each spine. This seemed to be the only place where the Priestess could get some alone time. Everywhere she looked, there were happy-go-lucky or very depressed students. Honestly, she wasn't sure how to feel about the whole situation to give a certain emotion. She simply shrugged it off and decided to go with however it would go. Playing it off until the very end. Suddenly, her train of thought was shut down when she heard the door open and close. Someone walked into the library. She sighed softly, under her breath. Tsubaki then put on a soft smile, ready to greet whoever walked in.

As maybe pleasant as it was to be around so many people, Reimu certainly had limits on how long she could be around so many people, especially with this atmosphere. She didn't really care much for the atmosphere of libraries, but at least she'd be able to relax and calm down instead of wanting to fight the next person she came across. The shrine maiden came through the door and had a feeling someone was here already. "Ah, jeez...", she mumbled to herself, mentally chastising herself for making that reference. Well, Reimu wasn't going to force herself to be too friendly, since that kind of attitude didn't sit right with her. She wandered the shelves a bit before coming to the shelves the other girl was at. Judging from the other girl's clothes, she must have had a talent like Reimu's. "Hey there. I'm guessing you've got a talent related to shrines and temples like myself?"

"Hmm..?" She turned her head over, seeing the student next to her. She looked over them, up and down with her eyes, curiously. "Oh! Why yes, I do." She answered, putting up her 'nice girl' facade. "It's a pleasure to meet you." She said, bowing lowly to the other girl.
"I am Tsubaki Kasugano." She introduced herself, straightening back up. Honestly, she was surprised to meet someone who had a similar talent.

Reimu was taken aback by the politeness, since she generally only dealt with brutal honesty except with her grandfather and some of the people she saved during her shrine "extermination". Nonetheless, she rubbed the back of her head and tried smiling. "Nice to meet you... I'm Reimu Hakurei, the Shrine Maiden for the Hakurei Shrine. You're welcome to just call me Reimu, Kasugano-san." Hm, now that she said the other girl's name, she did recall hearing something in the news about some tragedy involving a family called Kasugano, but it was probably not a good idea to bring it up. She looked on the shelf for a distraction. "I guess they really don't have scrolls here like they do at shrines and temples, huh? I mean, they're pretty heavy, but it does give it a really spiritual feeling."

"It is a nice surprise to meet someone with a similar talent such as myself." She said, smiling softly. The name 'Hakurei' seemed to sound a bit familiar. She wasn't sure why but, she decided not to dwell on it too much. "Yes, it is odd to see hard covers when you lived almost all your life reading scrolls." She replied, taking one of the books from the shelf and opening it. It seemed to be a science book. The young priestess scanned her eyes from one end of the page to another.
She then simply closed it and held it close to her chest. "I never thought i'd read a text book..." She muttered.

Reimu had to admit, it was rather refreshing having someone with a talent similar to hers. Granted, Reimu's shrine thrived solely on donations (that seemed to increase whenever she went around the shrine to "exterminate" pests), but at least the other girl knew of the little nuances of running a shrine. Not like most of the people here. Well, there always was a little good in a bad situation. "I've seen other kids walking home from school with textbooks, but I've never personally handled one, since my grandfather preferred scrolls to hard covers. Easier to move around, he says," Reimu said with a bemused smile. Reimu glanced over one of the books on the shelf, a little intrigued by the fact it mentioned something about space. Maybe moving around in space. "I agree... This situation really is bringing a lot of new experiences..."

"I was sadly not lucky enough to have an education when I was younger. I had to be trained to be a good influence for my followers." She said, holding the book a bit tighter. Thinking back to it, it ticked her off quite a bit. If her parents were around, she would probably be able to go to school. At the very least, she would be home schooled. Then again, that's something she shouldn't be dwelling on.
"For better or for worse, you are correct." She replied, looking over at the other female. "Though, I assume most would lean more towards 'worse'." She added.

That sounded like a rather depressing experience, Reimu thought. She didn't have parents she knew of herself, but she at least had a grandfather, and he tried to educate her at their shrine so she wouldn't be distracted by other students. While it wasn't entirely successful with how prone to solving problems with violence Reimu could be, she at least was able to have an education. "Huh, I see...." Reimu remarked, not entirely sure how to respond to that. The for better or for worse comment from Tsubaki made Reimu smile a little, and she pulled out one of her Yin Yang balls. "I couldn't agree more. For everything good, there's something negative to achieve a balance, and foreverything bad, something good exists to balance the bad. What those may be, I'm not sure in this case, but I believe something good will occur to balance out any bad."

"Oh! I apologize! I didn't mean to ramble so much." She said, rubbing her cheek. She did feel a bit embarrassed, the young priestess didn't mean to talk that much about her past. It was pretty obvious Tsubaki didn't have many people to talk with. This was probably her first serious conversation she had in quite a while.
She simply watched as the other female took out her Ying Yang balls. Tsubaki was interested, to say the least. "I agree but, I don't think anything positive will be coming for quite some time. Especially if what that stuffed animal was saying is true." She said, placing her finger on her bottom lip.

Reimu smiled sheepishly at Tsubaki. "No worries about that. I don't do a lot of talking, anyway." After all, if possible, Reimu prefered to handle confrontations quickly, with powerful blows to disable her target. But given this situation, she probably wouldn't need to use any attacks... if at all.
Reimu rolled the Yin Yang balls in her hand, feeling a little more relaxed seeing them. And it probably was true, that there probably wouldn't be very many good things in the coming future, but Reimu had her own weird thinking to blame for hoping for the good things. Especially because when good things occurred, she was in a bad mood due to the fact that bad things would eventually come. "You're most definitely right. It seems a little unoriginal to get students to kill each other, though. It happened in this movie I saw when I was younger, and the motive for having the kids kill each other was kind of ridiculous. The teacher hated every kid in his class but one, and was hoping all the kids but her would die."

Tsubaki couldn't help but, laugh. Even behind her 'sweet' ruse, she still found what the other female said to be quite humorous. "A life or death situation has been presented in front of you and you find it to be 'unoriginal'." She said, covering her mouth as she giggled. "I must say, you have an interesting personality, Reimu." She added, wiping the eyes, slightly. "Perhaps your view points will spread to the other students." As she spoke, she pulled up a chair from one of the small tables and sat down, placing the textbook in her lap. She placed her chin on her fist as she looked to the side.
'Maybe then I wouldn't have to hear so many sniveling idiots praying for their pathetic lives to continue...' She thought to herself. Oh, how she wished she could say that out loud. Then again, she didn't want to anger or scare away a potential friend, especially one who she had a good connection with.

"I have been told that my line of thinking... Doesn't exactly fit with a lot of what other people would normally think," Reimu smiled. Well, she was a Shintoist Miko with a Taoist theme, though she couldn't really say it was something she got from her grandfather, since he didn't understand how she thought, either.
"I would think that'd be a good thing, if people viewed this situation differently. Then they wouldn't have to be so fearful, and maybe it'd be a little easier for there to be some sort of calm in this place," she said with a sigh as she leaned against a shelf. "To be honest, some of the other students... They can be annoying and repetitive. Hm... Maybe that story I mentioned is in here."

"That is fine. After all, it separates you from many other people and makes you unique." She replied. She then opened the book and began looking through the pages, slowly getting invested. Her smile was hidden from behind the book that was over her mouth. Finally, she thought, someone who she could talk normally with. "Honestly though, it won't solve anything if they continue to bicker, whine, and cry over any bad situation." She said, bluntly.
She then gasped softly, realizing she was being a little too blunt. "O-Oh, I'm sorry. That was over the line."

"Well, thanks. I don't think anybody's ever told me that, but I really appreciate it." Even her grandfather had been more along the lines of "Reimu, I suggest you keep your odd thoughts to yourself." Then again, the man kind of reminded her of a turtle, so she generally took what her grandfather said lightly.
Reimu smiled at Tsubaki, feeling something akin to a friendship? She wouldn't know. "No worries. I've always valued honesty, and knowing that someone shares the same opinions as I do about this situation."

"Really? Then you have been surrounded by fools and deadbeats. No offense, of course. However, no one should keep their true personality away from others." She said. Oh, how much of a hypocrite she was being. She knew it wasn't a good thing to keep everything inside but, that was probably for the best because most people would call her a 'cold-hearted bitch' or something along those lines.
She giggles softly and nods. "I agree. Honesty is a good policy." She said, cringing on the inside. She continued to read, slowly feeling herself get sucked into the pages.
