The young boy was surprised that there was no one in the library. He could only assume that the other students were searching the first floor. Kazuya, however, thought that maybe there were answers in the library? What kind of answers. Well, he wasn't really sure. Maybe blueprints to the academy? Something that could reveal a way a way out or a way to contact help. Archieves on police-files were something that the author was not expecting to find. What kind of school wanted fellow students to look into murder files? Not all of them were detectives. There was only one.
Every now and then he was nervous when he heard a creaking or a sound in the library. He was still remembering the day that the library collasped on him. Part of him hoped he would find a ghost to give him answers. Rubbing the back of his head, Kazuya put another book on the shelf, on the table beside the shelves, was his notebook where he stored his rough drafts for stories. Would this setting and idea be a good story? It probably wouldn't work that well. Killing to survive and get out alive? Coud he handle that?
"No, stop that!" he said outloud. "Focus on something else, work on a new story idea. That will take your mind off it." The problem, his brain was wired to figuring out how to get out of ths crazy school.

Gowther figured the best thing to do was wait for help to arrive. Granted, it would take a while, but surely someone would notice no one at the school was contacting their loved ones and figure out that something was wrong. He had decided not to worry about it at first, but he would be lying if he said he didn't look over his shoulder a few times since the announcement. Wanting to take his mind off it, he retreated the library, the thing he was most excited for when invited to attend the school. Maybe he shouldn't have been so eager. Gowther had been sitting behind a shelf, reading a book, a pile of books next to him, when he heard someone speak. At first he thought someone was talking to him, so he peered from behind the shelf, despite that he was hidden from view, making it hard for someone to notice him. He tilted his head when he saw Kazuya "Can I help you?"

Kazuya looked around, surprised. It was almost like a ghost. Maybe that would be a best thing to happen at this school. He wasn't crazy then. Of course, he would have to find it first. "Ah, sorry, I forgot this was a library I need to keep it quiet." Was he apologizing to thin air? Despite looking around, he couldn't very well see the other person talking to him.
"I..I kind of need to stop thinking about what that bear told us ya know?" Kill to survive. How horrible would it be if that happened? He didn't want anyone to die, sure he hadn't met most of the students yet but to kill them all? That was too much

"I can understand that. I'm here for the same reason." Gowther decided to step into view "But I doubt reading about serial killers and mass murder is going to make you feel any better. I've read them already, and they don't help the imagination."
He picked up his pile of books and began to put them back in their rightful places "You are Kazuya Kujo, right? I've read all your work, but I must say, The Library of the Golden Fairy was my favorite."

Kazuya was glad to know that he wasn't the only one feel awkward about the whole situation. The idea of reading about serial killers seemed to serve as a purpose for killing. Maybe that was the point? He couldn't shake that as a thought, and wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible. However, he was sure that burning anything of the sort would be a violation of the rules.
His cheeks turned a light shade of pink at the mention of his work. He knew that a few people liked his work but the idea of someone outside of his school was something he was not expecting. "Thank you." he said giving a bow, at least to show his respect. His first book was his favorite? That was new one. "That one was probably a favorite to write for me."

"I could tell." Gowther replied and finished placing the books back in order "You can tell what an author enjoys by reading his work, your other books didn't have that same spirit as the first one did." He turned to him "I apologize if I scared you earlier. I was hiding myself because I didn't trust being alone."

The boy nodded, he could easily tell what the boy was talking about. The books he had written after his first were not as good. "Though I suppose that's because it was events of the Golden Fairy, were sort of based off what happened to me." he gave a small smile. "And no biggie, at least you weren't that freaky bear."
He shivered thinking about that weird-looking stuffed bear. "I didn't catch your name, obviously you know mine. But ya know, i wouldn't mind knowing yours."

"Gowther." He replied "My name is Gowther, Super High School Level Bookworm." He pulled a book off the shelf, looked at it, then put it back. He continued to look for a book, and when he found it, he turned to Kazuya "Mind if I ask what your experience was? For you to write such a story, something incredible must have happened, yes?"

Kazuya gave a small smile. "Well, I suppose I could tell you, I mean you aren't a reporter." He gave a laugh but was relieved. Having being hounded by reporters about the incident, he couldn't bring himself to talk about it. But he was sure that Gowther, wouldn't judge him. "When I first transfered to my school in Germany, the talk of ghost stories was all the rage." Pulling up a chair, he took a seat. "I wanted to find out as much as I could, I didn't want to feel like an awkward kid that didn't know anything."
It was all coming back, the library and all the books there. "Well, one day while I was there, there was an earthquake, and the library pretty much collapsed. I was the only one there...but i had pretty much given up hope. Until i saw this light, maybe it was a girl or something of the sort. I am still not sure, it ended up leading me out to safety."

Gowther sat down when Kazuya began speaking "That is miraculous. I never would have imagined something like that happened." He put his hands together "So you took inspiration from a disaster, very impressive and admirable."

Kazuya gave an uneasy laugh. "I suppose you could call it that, I was pretty much scared out of my mind, I thought I was going to die." Though maybe it was that experience that led him to start writing. If he hadn't had that experience he wasn't sure what would have happened. "Though, I think coming to this school may inspire something else...if I live that long."
Wow that was a negative thought. "So, uh bookworm, I take it that means you read a lot?"

"But you didn't die, and afterwards, you made something of yourself. That itself is inspiring." Gowther frowned at the live that long comment "And you'll live. I can't deny that some people here may already be thinking of murder, but if you play it safe and trust the right people, it won't happen."
Gowther then smiled lightly "Every book ever written and then some. I have a photographic memory, so I remember everything I've read."

Kazuya gave a small smile, at least there was someone who thought he would stand a good chance of living. He wasn't too sure that he would but he couldn't bring something down. "I hope that we can all figure out how to get out. That would be something that would be nice." It was also just a dream. A silly hopeful dream brought on by a fool.
"Wow, you've read that many. I've never read that many. That's impressive."

"As long as we realize we are all in this together, we can get through this." Gowther spoke, not that he believed it all himself. He smiled and bowed dramatically "Thank you, but it isn't that impressive."

Kazuya shook his head. "I think that its more impressive than you think." He said, before looking around. "I don't think I could read all these, and I bet that photographic memory comes in handy. Bet you do really well on quizzes and tests." He was hoping that this conversation would lead away from the conversation of murder. Honestly, he hoped that he would wake up and it would all be one big joke.
"Have you gotten to meet the other students yet?"
